Old Computers

We always welcome the donation of newer computers and IT equipment - Please contact us if you have unwanted equipment, which can then be made available at cost to other local charities. We can only refurbish computers if they are fully functional, in reasonable condition and fulfil our minimum specifications.

Dropping Off Equipment

Charities and not-for-profit organisations are welcome to DROP-OFF a couple of computer systems at our facility FREE OF CHARGE (five units maximum per visit) and you can be assured that all hard disks and settings will be securely deleted prior to disposal. We can only accept donations at our premises by appointment - please call to arrange a suitable time.

Requesting a Collection

There is NO CHARGE for a collection of TEN or MORE items of above minimum specification and functional I.T. equipment from within Calderdale.

If you need us to collect LESS than TEN items, there will be a charge.

If the equipment is old, not functioning, below minimum specification or contains waste items, then there will be a collection charge (usually a small capped fee to cover transport and/or disposal costs).

The following rates may apply (though charges are generally capped to keep costs down) and REMEMBER,
if the equipment is functional and above our minimum specification
, collection and disposal could be free.


 Collection of 10+ computer systems from within Calderdale 
 - FREE
 Collections of 9 or less computer systems
 - 50p per mile round trip
 All collections outside Calderdale  
 - 50p per mile round trip

For below specification or non-functional equipment the following disposal rates may also apply:

 - Small Printers/Switches/Misc Box  - £2 each
 - Keyboards/Mice/Routers/Cables etc.  - FREE
 - CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) / Non-functional TFT Monitors  - £3 each
 - Non-PC Monitors
 - £5 each
 - Large Printers
 - Between £5 & £25 each
 - UPS Batteries
 - £5 each
 (Minimum £25 charge payable for below specification collections)  

Secure Data Deletion

 - Standard Wipe  - No Charge
 - Comprehensive Wipe (Below 80Gb/80+Gb)  - £10/£20 per drive
 - Secure Wipe (Below 80Gb/80+Gb)  - £20/£40 per drive
 - Enhanced Deletion Service (our security-checked staff carry out deletion on your premises)
  - £35 per hour
 - Licensed Deletion Service (incl. annual kit rental from Blancco)   - £1,000 for 100 in-house secure hard disk deletions incl. collection & subsequent equipment disposal

Donation or Waste?

If you are providing us with reasonably modern computer equipment in useable condition and can state that there are no scrap items, then it is not classed as electronic waste, and therefore there is also no requirement for you to register your premises or need us to supply waste consignment notes.
