Disposal of ICT hardware etc. from Schools,

Colleges and Educational Establishments

Equipment Disposal

DOT-COMmunications' 3R-iT Project works with local schools and colleges to ensure that their unwanted ICT hardware disposal is handled correctly, including ensuring the secure deletion of all data and donor identifiers and the appropriate disposal of hardware ensuring nothing goes to landfill.

We are the appointed disposal agency for Calderdale MBC's Children & Young People's Service - see below.

For schools and educational establishments outside of Calderdale, a small collection fee may apply for dealing with equipment that fulfills our minimum specification. A further (usually capped) charge may apply to equipment that is below our minimum specification or which has had memory or parts removed prior to collection.

The following information from Calderdale MBC Children & Young People's Service applies to all Calderdale schools and educational establishments.

Disposal of ICT Hardware is currently being performed for Calderdale by DOT-COMmunications in Hebden Bridge.

Calderdale have a Local Authority contract with DOT-COMmunications so this means that provided all your computer equipment can be delivered directly to their facility or collected from one central source within that Borough and the majority of the donated equipment meets the minimum specification, the equipment will be processed free of charge.

To check current minimum specifications for disposal please go to [our minimum specifcation page].

Requests for the disposal of ICT Hardware should be made through Jae Campbell at DOT-COMmunications on 01422-844991 or talk2us@dot-communications.co.uk , giving details of:

i. Individual serial numbers

ii. Make and model of item(s)

iii. Contact Name and Specific location of the devices.

DOT-COMmunications will then liaise with yourselves regarding any costs and delivery or collection details.

DOT-COMmunications perform both data and software cleansing from the hardware.

This document replaces any previously issued documents for CYPS.
